SUSTAINING Vermont’S WORKING LANDSCAPE
Castanea Foundation was established to conserve and protect agriculturally productive and environmentally significant land and water resources in select areas of Vermont. We develop and support projects designed to conserve the environment and the working landscape by protecting land, and fostering economically viable, environmentally sustainable agricultural practices.
Castanea Foundation operates throughout the State of Vermont, with priority given to projects in the watershed of Lake Champlain, southwestern Vermont, and the Hoosic River and Batten Kill watersheds of Vermont and Washington and Rensselaer Counties, New York. Castanea works collaboratively with landowners, business entities, and publicly supported state and local organizations to achieve its goals.
Castanea Foundation, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, private operating foundation.
